
Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), the Tata Group’s hospitality arm, has disclosed a penalty of ₹19.95 lakh imposed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in connection with past deviations at its Taj Wellington Mews property in Mumbai.
The penalty order, issued by the Office of the Assistant Commissioner (Estates), BMC, was received by the company on April 15. IHCL stated in a regulatory filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) that the deviations cited had occurred in the past, and that the financial implication is limited to the disclosed amount.
“There will be no impact on operations or other activities of the company,” IHCL said, affirming that the issue does not pose any ongoing concern for the business.

IHCL, known for its iconic Taj brand, operates a wide portfolio of hotels and services across the globe under brands including SeleQtions, Vivanta, and Ginger.
Ahead of the development, shares of Indian Hotels Company Ltd closed higher at ₹842.90, up ₹6.55 or 0.78% on the BSE.
